Q.1 Why did you start training and did you have any goals of competing to begin with?
I first starting training as part of my rehab after an injury doing athletics, it was then that I really started to enjoy lifting weights and seeing results. It wasn’t until I saw my sisters boyfriend compete at a local show that I wanted to compete.
Q.2 Were you into sport growing up? If so which ones?
Yes, I did allot of athletics and also played rugby both at a national level
Q.3 What is your current training schedule like? How does it differ between pre-contest and off season? Do you do much cardio work?
I train on a 4 day split in the off season having a mid week rest and weekend rest, I step it up to 5 sessions a week pre contest. I do 3 excersizes for each muscle group and 3 sets for each excersise. My first 2 sets are nearly always heavy and my last set I normally rep out.
Q.4 How long have you been competing?
I've been competing since I was 17 years old so about 18 years now.
Q.5 What are your main competitive achievements?
I have done many shows and had many highlight, I've won a fair few but my favourite ones were;
Jnr Mr Britain
Jnr Mr universe
Super Heavyweight Mr Britain
Mr California and overall Mr California tournament of Champions
I've won many regional shows too which were also great over the years and I still have more to go!
Q.6 Who are your main sources of inspiration in your training and whose physiques do you most admire?
I'm a massive fan of Kev Levrone, definitely one of my favourate athletes of all time
Q.7 What are your current competitive goals?
To become a pro bodybuilder, something I've yet to achieve!
Q.8 Why do you feel you have been able to make continuous gains over the years? I've had great support both at home and by my sponsors, if it wasn’t for them I'm sure my gains would of dramatically been affected.
Q.9 What supplements do you use?
Extreme Nutrition Whey, Build & Recover, Pro-6, Glutamine Complex, BCA-311 (branch chain aminos), Extreme Creatine and I also like to use Extreme CLA and Trib-Z and Reload.
Q.10 How much do you feel supplements and sports nutrition help your training? Supplements really help especially pre contest, it allows my body to get all the essential nutrients I need to maintain and gain muscle pre contest
Q.11 What is it that motivates you through a hard session?
The thought of winning or even worse, losing a comp keep me going.
